About HEIG

The purpose of the HEIG is to bring together, from the greater Halifax region, anyone and everyone with an interest in any area of ergonomics and/or human factors. If you are interested in any area of design (physical, cognitive, organizational, social, etc.) and how design can either enhance or negatively impact human well being then please join us. Kinesiologists, sociologists, psychologists, engineers, physiotherapists,
occupational therapists, ergonomists, human factors engineers, usability specialists, human computer interaction experts, occupational health nurses, safety professionals, everyone with an interest is very welcome to join us.

HEIG is an informal group. There are no fees, no membership requirements, and no requirement to attend any or all meetings. The sole purpose of HEIG is to allow people with an interest in the full and broad scope of ergonomics / human factors to get together, chat, learn, network and broaden their understanding of how design can enhance the lives of people.

HEIG meetings will be scheduled approximately four (4) times a year. Note: This inaugural meeting of the Halifax Ergonomics Interest Group is being organized and sponsored by the Atlantic Region of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists.
